Robin was nice and patient with us but that was the only thing good about this place. We have been coming here for a long time and not sure why it has went down. Food is way too high for what you get, just look at these $3 potatoes
Expensive and a set up for tourists. If you are on a budget this isnt a place to visit. If you want to watch the monkeys on the island the upstairs is a good view.
Had a great lunch, great service, and a nice view of the river.
If you are looking for something a little different, check out the Riverside Crab House. Why do I say this? There is an island in the river with Monkeys on it. You can watch the monkey trapped on the island while you eat your fried clam strips. Lots of floor to ceiling windows you can peer out and enjoy the primate promenade. As for the restaurant itself, not bad at all. Pros - friendly staff, lots of nice seating, great views (remember the monkeys), decent priced food, good tasting food. I got a blackened grouper sandwich. Wish it was more blackened, but they did alright. I really appreciated how they brought a little dessert for the kids at no cost to try and get them to eat their dinner. Cons - a little bit on the warm side in the back room when the sun is setting through the window, and the parking is a bit difficult. All in all, definitely worth going back to.
Had lunch here. Food was over the top delicious. Portion sizes were crazy big. Service was very prompt. Our waitress, Chrissy, was fantastic and made sure we had a great lunch. I will definitely come back here again when in town.
The view here was outstanding, where we sat we were able to watch the monkeys play on the island and boats pass on the river. The food was okay, not great. I had oysters and my friend had the crab cakes. But the view, wow.
We ate here after our Snorkeling with Manatees tour. From the outside, this looks like a run down shack, but once inside I got a feeling this was going to be great and it was. At 4 pm, this place was already crowded but we got seated as soon as we walked in. The service was friendly and fast. I had the combo sliders, one if each, burger, chicken, fish, and BBQ and it was excellent. I don't remember what everyone else had, but everyone was pleased and had a great time, there were 6 of us. You will enjoy this place. My favorite part other than the food, was watching the 5 monkeys on Monkey Island right outside the window. The window does need to be cleaned, but it was still great.
We had a great view right on the river, watching the tons of boats go by on Memorial Day Weekend. On the furthest table on the end we got a great view of Monkey Island. It was entertaining to watch the monkeys playing, eating, and interacting with passing boats. We needed the entertainment because lunch took a long time to come out even though it wasn't overly packed. Once we got our food, it was good. My wife had a BBQ sandwich that she thought was just okay... good BBQ beef but the bread wasn't so hot. I, on the other hand, had the garlic crab which was fantastic. It was hard to get into the meat at first until I got into a rhythm and put on my bib and stop worrying about staying clean! It was very enjoyable and unique flavor with the garlic, certainly didn't use any of the butter because didn't need it to add any flavor. The sweet tea was also very good southern style sweet tea. So overall it was a good lunch as far as my food goes at least and the view right on the river. But we were hoping it was a little quicker; took over an hour to get out of there. Not terrible but wanted to get to the state park. So just plan for it to take a little longer and you'll be good.
